It is said in The Mahaparinibbana Sutta : “Of all footprints, that of the elephant is supreme. Similarly, of all mindfulness meditations, that on death is supreme.”
This retreat is an opportunity to take this statement into our hearts and to allow it to radically transform the way we live our lives. In a caring, supportive learning environment, we will combine the stillness of insight meditation with dharma talks, experiential exercises, and heart-felt discussions. Maranasati, the practice of death awareness, has the power to awaken us to a felt experience of the preciousness and mystery of this amazing human life.
This retreat is an invitation to live fully, love well, and die joyfully.
To assure everyone has a safe and wholesome retreat, we ask each retreatant to honor The Five Precepts throughout the retreat. Read more about The Five Precepts here.
